How to make hard boiled eggs

1. Place 4-6 eggs in a single layer in a saucepan.

2. Cover the eggs with cold water, about an inch above them.

3. Put the saucepan on high heat and bring the water to a boil.

4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 9-12 minutes.

5. Remove from heat and immediately transfer eggs to an ice water bath.

6. Let the eggs sit in the ice bath for about 5 minutes.
